FACULTY OF LAW  |  University of Sydney

Capital Insight undertook the feasibility study and are Project Director and Project Manager for the relocation of the Faculty of Law from its current Sydney CBD location back to the main campus. The relocation will improve efficiencies and reduce travel times for staff and for students, many of whom undertake double degrees using other facilities on the main Camperdown campus.

The new $85 million Faculty of Law building will assume a prominent position on the Camperdown campus, between the Carslaw Building and the Fisher Library, overlooking Victoria Park. The complex will include teaching, office and library facilities within a gross floor area of 18,250 square metres. Site preparation has involved the demolition of the Edgeworth David Building and Steven Roberts Theatre, and bulk excavation of some 35,000 cubic metres of material. This will allow a 420 car multi-level car park beneath the Faculty of Law, relieving current parking pressures within the University.
