Orange Hospital  |  NSW Health and Greater Western AHS

The new $250 million Orange Hospital is being delivered as part of the Bathurst, Orange and Bloomfield Health Service Redevelopment. Capital Insight was the Project Director managing the PPP transaction and the contract.  This role included:

  • advising on the procurement strategy

  • analysing the assets and business to determine the support services to be included in the project

  • undertaking the preliminary financial analysis and preparing the business case

  • preparing the Expression of Interest and the preparation of the request for detailed proposal documentation

  • directing the submission evaluations and managing the stakeholders

  • directing negotiations and resolving issues

  • managing the project start-up and variations

  • contract administration and establishing project governance and change management.

The new facilities in Orange will accommodate 197 acute inpatients in most specialties including rehabilitation, sub-acute palliative care, community health and community mental health. The project also includes mental health bed-based services for 157 clients including secure mental health, psychogeriatric, child and adolescent, acute mental health and rehabilitation. The contract with the project company covers hard, and a range of soft facility management services for 25 years.
