Liverpool Hospital Stage 2 | NSW Health and Sydney South West AHS Capital Insight is appointed by Health Infrastructure and Sydney South West Area Health Service as Project Director Planning and Procurement for $390 million redevelopment (Stage 2, Phase 1) of the Liverpool Hospital campus. Capital Insight was also engaged to undertake preceding health planning services, review the draft Campus Masterplan, and prepare a Strategic Land Use Redevelopment Plan. Liverpool is currently a 600-bed Principal Referral Hospital and the overall capacity will be expanded to almost 1,000 beds as part of this project. The redevelopment of Liverpool Hospital is critical for the delivery of expanded clinical services, and additional beds and ambulatory care, both to the current catchment population and to the new south west sector growth area at Bringelly. The expansion of the Hospital, and the development of a health research institute, will further enhance the critical mass of research effort, with consequential improvements to the range and quality of medical treatment and services in the south-west of Sydney. Related sub-projects will address the need for additional car parking and residential accommodation facilities. The project has been fast-tracked within a high profile, sensitive environment, with the preferred development option allowing for a phased implementation program over several years. Services provided by Capital Insight included feasibility studies, option definition, evaluation and selection, project planning, value management, and the development and implementation of the procurement strategy. The project requires consultation with a large number of major stakeholders including TAFE, RailCorp, Liverpool Council, Roads and Traffic Authority, University of Western Sydney, University of NSW and the Office of Science and Medical Research. |
