Camperdown Public Domain | The University of Sydney

Capital Insight was Project Director and Project Manager redevelopment of the University of Sydney's Camperdown and Darlington Public Domain Projects as part of the overall Campus 2010+ Building for the Future Program, for which Capital Insight was also Project Director and Project Manager.

The Camperdown Public Domain project involved the upgrade of the public domain areas of the Camperdown Campus, from City Road to Parramatta Road.  It has resulted in a contemporary outdoor area providing easy access to facilities for University patrons.

The work was undertaken over five stages.  The scope of works included:

• removal of 49 trees and planting of 93 advanced trees

• landscaping to new and existing buildings

• removal of 458 at-grade parking spaces

• reclamation of a significant amount of open space

• creation of water basins and features

• increased disabled access across the campus

• closure of Eastern Avenue to vehicular traffic to create a pedestrian promenade to link City Road to University Place.
