United States Study Centre | The University of Sydney Capital Insight was engaged as Project Manager to refurbish the John Woolley Building to accommodate the United States Study Centre (USSC). The USSC was established by the University to bring together scholars, politicians, business leaders and thinkers from across Australia and the US to research, debate and create new knowledge on American political, economic, social and cultural issues. It is a commitment by the University to leading-edge research, quality teaching and community engagement in relation to understanding the United States - its people, institutions, society and culture. The refurbishment was successfully achieved by using a staged implementation approach, which included works to the interior and exterior areas of the building. External works included demolition of toilet blocks and other non-heritage additions to the building, refurbishment of the workshop courtyard, creation of a main entrance entry courtyard and landscaping areas. Internal works included refurbishment of spaces for staff office areas and meeting/teaching spaces that incorporated high tech audio-visual and communications systems. |
